Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) is a paramedical course that trains students to perform laboratory tests used for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Medical laboratory technicians work with doctors and healthcare professionals to analyze blood, urine, tissues, and other body samples using laboratory equipment. The course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical training in clinical laboratories.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 (PUC) or equivalent examination.

  • Students should have studied Science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  • Minimum 45–50% marks may be required depending on the institution.

Duration

  • The duration of the DMLT course is usually 2 years.

  • Some institutions may include 6 months to 1 year of internship or practical training in hospitals or diagnostic laboratories.
