Academics
The college has well-qualified & experienced teaching faculty, who strive hard to impart quality nursing education and give personal attention to each student.
The college has well-equipped and spacious classrooms and laboratories, a Fundamental Nursing Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Obstetrics and Child Health Nursing Lab, Audio-Visual Lab, Nutrition Lab, and Computer Lab.
Clinical Facilities
At VIKRAM, the Nursing programs explore a differentiated practice model that teaches students to maximize their own role development, to seek the opportunity to learn and collaborate effectively with other Nurses of differing educational preparations. Each student of VIKRAM is given an opportunity to handle practical scenarios through its advanced technology on a real-time basis. Our Institution also has a tie-up with other affiliated Super Speciality Hospitals for clinical practice to ensure our students gain experience in all other specializations.
Kamakshi Hospital is the parent hospital of our college for clinical posting and internships for our students.
Kamakshi Hospital, a unit of B.S.M.S. Trust (Regd), was established in the year 1973, by Mysuru based Philanthropists Late. Sri. Madhava Shenoi and Late. Smt. Sulochana Madhava Shenoi, with the basic facilities provided, like General Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, for the benefit of those in need of medical aid at affordable expenses. Gradually, it was developed over the years with better facilities, with innumerable faculties added. It has now reached the 53rd year of its establishment.
Library Facilities
Shines through like a BEACON of information; it has a wealth of books, periodicals, and journals to its credit. It is the lifeline of information to the students, providing them with reference material for in-depth studies. The library offer calm and quiet environment for peaceful study. All the departments have their own dedicated libraries, complete with internet facilities and laboratories wherever needed. The libraries have a large and extensive collection of books and national and international journals that are updated each academic year.
The library also has a digital section where one can find a huge database of reputed online journals and international periodicals, as well as a full-text collection of faculty and document publications. The library also has internet access, along with helinet and wi-fi facilities. All the libraries provide the users with a reprography facility as well.
Hostel Facilities
The institute recognizes that a major concern for all students is the availability and quality of accommodation, thus the institute has arranged separate hostels for Boys and Girls students. The institutions offer clean, comfortable, and safe hostels for all the students on campus. The rooms, which are on a four-to-a-room basis, twin sharing and single occupancy basis, are spacious, well-furnished with beds, study tables, cupboards, and even solar water heaters, and all rooms have attached bathrooms.
Housekeeping facilities are available for the benefit of the students. Hostel wardens have been assigned to each hostel for the security and comfort of the students. Wi-fi is available in the hostel. Additionally, the college is making an effort to augment its hostel capacities periodically to accommodate more students. The facilities provided and the atmosphere at the hostels ensure that the students have calm and peace of mind, which is essential for them to grow academically.
Food Court
A well-stocked cafeteria that has numerous choices of cuisines to tingle the taste buds of the students is the lifeblood of any educational institute. Vikram’s cafeteria, which not only has a great ambience but also many cuisine choices of food from across the world, remains a focal point for the rest, refreshment, and relaxation of the students. Right from various choices for food and energy drinks to an exclusive ice-cream counter and even an on-campus Café Coffee Day, the cafeteria is a place of delight and invigoration for the people on the campus. Here, taste, hygiene, and nutrition go hand in hand in equal measure, none exclusive of the other.
Transportation
Transport facilities for the students are available by the institution. A post of comfortable & safe transport is being provided for all the students. The various departments have their own fleet of buses and vans for the convenience and safety of their students. This includes many pickup and drop locations in the main areas of Mysuru.
The scheduled and timely arrival and departures of the buses and vans ensure timely pickup and drop off to and from the college campus. The residential campuses with an enviable ambience are situated on the outskirts of Bangalore, and we provide free shuttle services to and from the city on weekdays and weekends, allowing the students convenient access.
Sports
When it comes to sports and extracurricular activities, the college gives equal prominence and importance to them as it does to academics. The college has extensive sports facilities for many sports, right from volleyball, basketball, and badminton to football and the all-time favourite cricket. Evenings see a flurry of activity on the grounds of the college with students playing various sports and many even enjoying as an interested audience. There is also an on-campus basketball court for the students to develop their talent. There are many sports clubs for different activities too, and they see active participation from the students and encouragement from the college faculty.
Apart from sports, the college also encourages and motivates its students to participate in many extracurricular activities. The college has many cultural clubs and societies, such as the anti-ragging cell, the hobby club, the literary club, the IT club, NSS clubs, cultural clubs, and musical bands. The college also has developmental cells, such as the Women’s Development Cell, as well as academic clubs.
Laboratories
The laboratories are completely equipped with items required as per norms. All the laboratories are constructed keeping in mind their compatibility, as each laboratory is equipped with a fresh air inlet and adequate space to accommodate students comfortably during their practical hours.
If there is one thing that the student communities across the world would agree on, it would be how monotonous learning theory alone can be. Students are constantly bombarded with information and would feel cramped. The laboratories in Pavan can be closely compared to the playground, as the students are welcome to test their theory under the close guidance of our expert teachers and lab faculty.
Class Rooms
All the classrooms are aesthetically designed with high-tech infrastructure and are fully equipped with modern facilities to help participants in their learning process. The classrooms, comprising cutting-edge audiovisual and video-conferencing facilities, include overhead projectors and audiovisual rooms to enable a modern teaching and learning approach.
